Improved Hinge Invented for Metal Windows and Doors by InventHelp Inventor (KXX-107)

PITTSBURGH, March 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Regardless of the weight and size of a metal door or window, conventional hinges of similar strength are used to hold it in place. Since these hinges may not be strong to support heavier loads and may become damaged, an inventor from Maryville, Tenn., has come up with a much more durable alternative.

He developed a prototype for NEEDLE BEARING HINGE ASSEMBLY to improve the longevity of the hinge bearing assembly used for attaching metal doors and windows with a more durable construction and a design that reduces friction. At the same time, it resists corrosion due to the fact its contact surfaces are kept filled with grease. As a result, it operates more smoothly than conventional non-bearing and ball bearing equipped hinges. Besides that, it is adaptable for use in a variety of structural and vehicular applications. In addition to its versatility, it is practical, reliable, easy to install, convenient and effective.

The unique patented design of this invention provides a hinge with internal needle bearings and a pathway for inserting grease through the unit to the bearings. A grease fitting also allows easy access to the pathway after it is installed.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "While looking for a way to improve the door hinges in a vintage car I own, I decided to redesign the hinge to prevent wear and tear and realized this new design could be used for any metal door hinge that can be replaced," he said.
