The Festival Art Souterrain, 10th edition « Labor Improbus » on view until March 25, 2018 in Montreal's underground network and in satellite locations


MONTRÉAL, March 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - The 10th edition of the Festival Art Souterrain invites a broad audience to discover contemporary art in the context of its annual event, presented over the seven buildings that make up its underground pedestrian network, in addition to nine satellite cultural venues in Montreal (Québec, Canada).

The festival presents some 98 projects by 94 visual artists Québec, Canadian and international artists and collectives selected by Frédéric Loury, principal curator and artistic director, as well as Pascale Beaudet and Emeline Rosendo, guest curators.

Among the artists featured are: from Québec : Sébastien Cliche, Moridja Kitenge Banza, Marc-Antoine K. Phaneuf, Nelson Henricks, Karine Giboulo, Jannick Deslauriers, Patrick Bérubé ; from : Canada Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge, Adad Hannah, Johannes Zits ; from Italie : Paolo Patrizi ; from Great Britain : Martin Parr ; from France : Julien Prévieux, Raphaël Dallaporta, Nøne Futbol Club; from Cuba Adrian Melis ; from Mexico : Alejandro Cartagena, Dulce Pinzón ; from Netherlands : Jan Banning ; from Germany : Antje Ehmann and Harun Farocki ; from USA : John Pilson ; from Finland : Pilvi Takala and from  Sweden : Johan Bävman.

Festivalgoers will be able to discover the many installations, sculptures, as well as video, photographic, digital and performance art forms that all tie into this year's theme, while also participating in the numerous activities organized daily.

The underground circuit: 1000 de la Gauchetière, Place Bonaventure, Place de la Cité Internationale/OACI, Édifice Jacques-Parizeau, the World Trade Centre Montreal, the Guy-Favreau Complex and the Palais des Congrès de Montréal.

The satellite circuit: Arsenal Contemporary Art Montreal, Art Matters Festival, the Centre de diffusion et d'expérimentation de l'Université du Québec à Montréal (CDEx), the Cinéma du Parc, Espace d'exposition Ubisoft, the Darling Foundry, The Fridge Door Gallery, Galerie Simon Blais and the Grande Bibliothèque.
