Hollywood Executive Producer And Creator Of The Diaspora Dialogues Koshie Mills Launches A Star Studded Inaugural International Women Of Power Event In Los Angeles

An African woman at the core, Koshie created and executive produced The Diaspora Dialogues platform to bridge the gap between Africans in the continent and Africans in the Diaspora. Mills was further inspired to stimulate more intimate conversations and curated the first-ever, groundbreaking, star studded International Women of Power Luncheon Event in celebration of women who are game changers positively impacting Africans globally in Entertainment, Business, Beauty, Music and Fashion during International Women's Month. Grammy award winning artist and former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams hosted the event and set the tone, along with the dynamic honorees; Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bozoma Saint John, Duckie Thot, Estelle and Claire Sulmers who were in attendance.      

The International Women of Power Luncheon was an intimate, elegant afternoon, featuring a breathtaking 360 view of the California coastline, champagne cocktail reception, three-course luncheon and awards presentation at the Marriott, Marina Del Rey on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The event filled the ballroom with a myriad of powerful influential women from Africa, West Indies, UK and America. The atmosphere was charged with an electric positive energy which was evidenced by dancing, laughing, singing, hugging and tears of joy from many attendees, presenters and honorees. The magical performance by Grammy Award winning Estelle and the many heartfelt emotional honoree speeches were a testament to the collective power of women gathered together in celebration of one another. A signature throne room portrait studio encapsulated the majestic royal theme of the event as the main intention was to  empower women to reclaim their crown and own their value as African Queens.  Five women were honored for their contributions in Entertainment; Legendary Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph received the coveted ROAR "Sankofa" Award. Uber C.B.O Bozoma Saint Johnwas the Business Excellence "Akofena" Award recipient. Australian Sudanese Model Duckie Thot was honored with the Goddess Beauty "Duafe" Award, Grammy Award winning artist Estelle was the Music Icon "Nyansapo" honoree and Style Innovator Claire Sulmersreceived the Fashion Impact "Nsaa" Award. 

The exclusive event also featured a special live performance by singer, songwriter and actressPresenters included acting brothers Kwame Boateng & Kwesi Boakye, Actress Nicole Ari Parker, Actress Monique Coleman, Actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, Model Ebonee Davis and Model Mame Adjei. Special VIP guests in attendance included Malinda Williams, Renee Lawless, Skye Marshall, Roland Martin and Isaiah Washington.     

The event culminated with the President of Ghana's Diaspora Office director, Nadia Musah delivered a message and welcome sponsor of the event 

Republic Of Ghana Tourism, the public service agency in charge of regulating tourism in Ghana sent their board member Dentaa Amoateng to present certificates of Ambassadorships for Ghana's Tourism, Arts and Culture to Koshie Mills and her sons Kwame Boateng, Kofi Siriboe and Kwesi Boakye for their consistent work in exemplifying and highlighting Ghana in the entertainment community in Hollywood and all over the world.
