GATINEAU, QC, March 14, 2018 /CNW/ - Under the Oceans Protection Plan, the Government of Canada is committed to providing the Canadian Coast Guard with the necessary equipment, at the best value to Canadian taxpayers, to provide timely and effective response to spills in Canada's waters.
Following an open, competitive process, Aqua-Guard Spill Response Inc., from North Vancouver, British Columbia, was awarded a $1,238,758 (including taxes) contract for the acquisition of 23 small portable multi-cassette skimmer packages and related equipment. The Canadian Coast Guard uses portable skimmers to recover marine pollution spills and reduce the potential impact to shorelines and other natural resources. This new equipment will be delivered in the coming months.
This contract includes options for up to 96 additional portable multi-cassette skimmer packages and other associated components.
