John Hagee Ministries Dedicates Home for Expectant Unwed Mothers
SAN ANTONIO, March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This past weekend, John Hagee Ministries (JHM), a San Antonio-based international Christian ministry, dedicated its Sanctuary of Hope (SOH), a state-of-the-art facility that will provide expectant mothers in crisis and their children a safe space from which to build a strong foundation for a fulfilling life. The dedication comes just over a year after JHM first broke ground on the facility.
The weekend's events began on Friday with a 5k run, hosted by Cornerstone Church, which raised funds for the facility. More than 400 people took part in the race. The following day, JHM held the formal dedication of the facility, which will open in May.
Building such a facility has been a lifelong dream for JHM founder Pastor John Hagee who spent time working at an orphanage during his formative years.
"I'm very proud that we are able to so quickly begin offering these services just a little more than one year after we first started building the main facility. Christians are mandated to help their neighbors in need; the Sanctuary of Hope will do just that by providing women in crisis with an opportunity to build prosperous, loving lives," Hagee said.
Initially, the main facility, designed by architect Dan Wigodsky, will house 24 expectant mothers and 24 additional mothers with their newborn children. In the long-term, additional facilities on the 85 acre campus will be home to a total of 300 residents at any given time. SOH residents will receive on-site medical care, parental training, counseling, educational opportunities, and job placement assistance, among other services, free of charge.
