Governments of Canada and New Brunswick invest in women's shelter


MONCTON, NB, March 12, 2018 /CNW/ - The governments of Canada and New Brunswick have provided $600,000 in funding for the expansion of a women's shelter in the Moncton area. The Crossroads for Women Inc. project consists of 17 new beds for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Crossroads for Women Inc. also offer a variety of programs and services to help women and children. Funding was made possible through the federal provincial Investment in Affordable Housing Agreement.

The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), along with the Honourable Cathy Rogers, Minister of Finance, made the announcement today.
