Revitalization of rue Notre-Dame Continues With the Opening of Marché Station Angus

MONTRÉAL, March 2, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Robert Beaudry, member of Ville de Montreal's Executive Committee responsible for economic and commercial development and government relations, and Maja Vodanovic, Mayor of Arrondissement de Lachine, in the presence of partners and merchants on rue Notre-Dame, inaugurated Marché Station Angus today, a new business on this street. A delicatessen with a chic industrial décor reminiscent of the lively atmosphere of former train stations, Marché Station Angus is one of the businesses on rue Notre-Dame receiving financial assistance through two municipal programs: Ville de Montréal's PRAM-Commerce and Arrondissement de Lachine's Renouveau Notre-Dame.

"Marché Station Angus is a symbol of the revitalization of rue Notre-Dame and we are very pleased to offer Lachine residents an attractive meeting place featuring quality products close to families. It will also enhance Marché Lachine, Montreal's oldest public market," stated Maja Vodanovic, Mayor of Arrondissement de Lachine.

The Association Centre-ville de Lachine (ACVL) is also delighted to welcome this new business in this part of Lachine. "The arrival of Marché Station Angus on rue Notre-Dame is bringing new life to the area. It is joining merchants who want to offer a wide range of quality products and services to Lachine residents," emphasized ACVL President Janie St-Pierre.

PRAM-Commerce in Lachine and Renouveau Notre-Dame
Within the revitalization strategy for rue Notre-Dame, Ville de Montréal's PRAM-Commerce offers a financial assistance program to merchants and building owners on rue Notre-Dame, between 6e and 19e Avenues, for the renovation of their front facades and for their interior design.

As for Renouveau Notre-Dame, it aims to support and encourage the establishment of new commercial enterprises on this street in Lachine. This Borough program provides complete financial and technical assistance to businesses that locate on rue Notre-Dame, between 6e and 19e avenues. Two types of financial assistance are available: monetary awards and crowdfunding. Management of this program has been entrusted to PME Montréal West-Island.
