GreenON Launches 'Rebate Homeshow' to Help Ontarians Save Money and Fight Climate Change

Ontarians can find rebates on home upgrades to reduce their carbon footprint at GreenON.ca

TORONTO, March 2, 2018 /CNW/ - The Green Ontario Fund (GreenON), is hosting the first-ever 'Rebate Homeshow' ? a custom-built, tiny home that showcases how Ontarians can reduce their carbon footprint in their own homes, through green upgrades and money saving rebates. The Rebate Homeshow will pop-up from March 2nd - 4th at Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto, before moving to the National Home Show from March 9th ? 18th.

Launched in August 2017, GreenON is a not-for-profit provincial agency tasked with reducing climate change. This winter, the agency partnered with TV host and renovation expert, Kate Campbell, to build the Rebate Homeshow and to show in an impactful way, how Ontario homeowners can use the rebates available on GreenON.ca to make upgrades to their own homes, and save money and help fight climate change in the process.

"The Rebate Homeshow demonstrates that even small actions that homeowners can make to their own homes, like changing to a smart thermostat, can help make a difference," said Parminder Sandhu, Chair and Interim CEO for the Green Ontario Fund. "By making these changes through the GreenON rebates, Ontarian's are taking climate action into their own hands, shrinking their carbon footprint and saving money."

Ontario homeowners can easily determine which rebates are available to them through GreenON.ca, a one-stop hub that amalgamates all rebates based on the homeowner's postal code. The Rebate Homeshow will showcase the below rebates in a creative, eye-catching way:

"I was thrilled to be involved in the building of the Rebate Homeshow. I am extremely passionate about the cause and always looking for new ways to build green and reduce my own carbon footprint," said Kate Campbell, TV Personality and Home Renovation Expert. "When starting any home renovation project, I encourage you to check out GreenON.ca and learn how you can get money back and incorporate energy efficient upgrades into your home."

The Rebate Homeshow will be at Evergreen Brick Works from Friday, March 2nd to Sunday, March 4th. During the weekend consumers are invited to view the custom-built tiny home and speak with a GreenON representative to learn more about the available rebates.
