RICHMOND HILL, ON, March 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported February sales of 4,611 vehicles, representing an increase of 1.7 percent versus February 2017. This is the best February sales month for Mazda Canada since 2013. Year-to-date sales are 9,027, which is an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the same period in 2017.
Key February 2018 sales notes:
CX-5 held the lead as the best-selling model in the Mazda lineup for the second month in 2018, ahead of the perennially best-selling Mazda3 compact car. CX-5 had its best February sales ever with 1,744 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 5.7 percent year-over-year (YOY).
Posting its best-ever February since first going on sale in 2007, the CX-9 finished the month up 42.0 percent YOY.
The CX-3 recorded its 7th consecutive record sales month, with 765 vehicles sold in the month of February. This number represents an increase of 47.7 percent versus February of last year.
Mazda6 also enjoyed a solid 47.7 percent gain in February sales, even as the midsize sedan segment experienced a drop of 6.1 percent.
Mazda's CX-line, including the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9, led the sales charge in February, resulting in Mazda's best February sales since 2013. Collectively, Mazda sold 2,820 crossovers in the month of February, marking an increase of 18.1 percent YOY.
Among CX-line buyers, Mazda's i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive option continues to be a favorite, with 84.2 percent of customers choosing the AWD option in February.
