Insurance Bureau of Canada Deploys Community Assistance Mobile Pavilion (CAMP) to Brantford, Ontario

BRANTFORD, ON, Feb. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - In response to flooding this week across parts of Brantford, Ontario, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is deploying its Community Assistance Mobile Pavilion (CAMP) to help affected residents and businesses.

IBC CAMP staff will be at the Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre (333 Erie Ave.) tomorrow from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00pm-5:00 p.m. to answer insurance-related questions for Brantford area residents and business owners affected by water damage.

"We advise residents that they should contact their insurance representative to determine whether or not they have coverage," said Kim Donaldson, Vice-President of Ontario for IBC. "Overland flooding is an option in insurance coverage and not every consumer has chosen this feature. Sewer back-up often is included, but that too, depends on your coverage."

Another option for affected residents with questions is to call IBC's Consumer Information Centre ? 1-844-2ask-IBC (1-844-227-5422).

CAMP is one of a number of initiatives by Canada's home, car and business insurers to help Canadians prepare for, and cope with, disasters. The national program provides disaster victims with on-site, quick-response, insurance-related information.
