Stryde Technologies Granted Patent For Shielded Inductors

CHICAGO, Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Stryde Technologies has recently been granted a patent for ferrous shielding of inductors under US patent 9,780,633. This intellectual property comes as an extension of their previously patented inductor design that harvests vibrational energy from ambient environments to power electronic devices including sensors.

Magnetic interference can lower the performance of inductors, and such interference is often found in industrial environments. Inductors can also interfere with other inductors, when placed in large arrays. Stryde's ferrous shielding technology reduces both interference from ambient influences as well as from adjacent inductors, increasing performance in some cases by as much as 50%.

"It's a development that has been in the works for a while now, and we're happy that this competitive edge and innovation is now protected," says Tejas Shastry, CEO and Co-Founder of Stryde Technologies. "All of our future customers will benefit from this ferrous shielding technology, which we already have deployed in several applications."

About Stryde Technologies: Incorporated in 2013 and headquartered in Chicago, IL, Stryde Technologies designs, manufactures, and licenses patented energy harvesting technology for electronic devices across the internet of things, from consumer goods to industrial sensors.
