Chinatown Celebrates "Year of the Dog" With the Golden Dragon Parade and New Year Festival
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The LA Chinatown BID invites you to join Chinatown's 119th annual Golden Dragon Parade to welcome the "Year of the Dog" with firecrackers, dragon dancers, floats, bands, and more. A free festival takes place concurrently with acrobats, martial artists, artisans and cooking demonstrations.
Who: The 2018 Miss Chinatown Queen and Court, monks, Lion dancers, dignitaries, the heads of Chinatown family associations, and many others from the Chinese community.
Why: Chinese New Year is the most important family holiday of the year in the Chinese culture. (Dog years are 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018.)
