PatientPoint delivers educational and sponsored brand content through a cohesive communication platform that includes digital waiting room screens, interactive exam room touchscreens and a physician medical news program. By the end the year, PatientPoint programs are on track to reach more than 140,000 healthcare providers and impact patient-physician discussions in more than 51,000 physician offices and 1,000 hospitals nationwide.

MeU Care is a mobile and web communication solution for patient activation and care management that allows for secure, multidirectional communications among providers, patients and caregivers. The goal of MeU Care is to activate behaviors that will keep people healthy and reduce costs of care. The solution is free to consumers and is also in use by leading healthcare companies including hospitals, health plans and provider groups.

PatientPoint Connect?powered by MeU Care?will serve as a central hub for providers to facilitate and monitor interactive communication, deliver relevant education and important facility/practice information and conduct e-visits. Free and premium versions of the platform will be available to healthcare providers.

"At its core, PatientPoint Connect will offer providers a powerful tool for ongoing, meaningful engagement with patients and caregivers between visits?often when they need it most," said PatientPoint Chief Provider Officer and President, Hospital, Chris Martini. "By extending the notion of 'point of care' beyond the brick-and-mortar office, this platform will help providers improve therapy adherence and reduce readmissions, ultimately increasing quality scores and quality-based reimbursement."

MeU Care case studies underscore how mobile engagement can drive positive outcomes for healthcare providers. For example, first-time appointment rates among newly diagnosed diabetes patients increased dramatically from 19 to 62 percent after patients received personalized video messages from their provider on the MeU Care app.

"We know that using multidirectional multimedia to explain and communicate about a condition extends care and boosts efficiencies, particularly in our smartphone-centric culture," said MeU Care Founder Kendall Lockhart. "We're excited to incorporate trusted PatientPoint education and enhance our functionality to reach patients and caregivers with prescribed content during and between their hospital and physician office visits to encourage better outcomes."

PatientPoint Connect is part of a broader product roadmap powered by the PatientPoint mission to make every doctor-patient engagement better.
