MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OP - Ontario Science Centre shines a light on inspirational role models to mark International Day of Women and Girls in Science

TORONTO, Feb. 9, 2018 /CNW/ - Be inspired by the personal stories of trailblazing women and girls at the Ontario Science Centre to mark International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11. From an anesthetist to a science writer to an eight-year-old citizen scientist, the Centre is shining the spotlight on the contributions of women and girls in science to inspire the next generation of girls to imagine their future in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Women account for only 28% of researchers across the world, with the gap deepening at the higher echelons of decision-making. Challenge implicit biases and broaden your perspective on what makes a great scientist as the Ontario Science Centre adds its voice to the global movement of publicly advocating for parity in science for women.
