SteppIR Communication Systems Announces John Stanford as Chief Technology Officer


SEATTLE and ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SteppIR Communication Systems, a global provider of communication products and services, today announced at HamCation 2018 that the company has hired John Stanford, KF6I, as Chief Technology Officer.  Mr. Stanford has over 30 years of experience in both consumer and enterprise-grade communications products and services and will oversee the entire SteppIR product line.  Additionally, Mr. Stanford will oversee the company's newly opened Los Angeles office which will support a local engineering and sales team.

Mr. Stanford received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Dayton and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  His graduate research was focused on log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) antennas where he studied under Paul Mayes, a pioneer in broadband antennas.  Additionally, Mr. Stanford is an avid ham radio enthusiast.  He is an active HF and VHF CW/SSB contester and can be heard on six and two meter Meteor scatter.  He has also assembled a band-hopping WSPR station and operates on the FT8 and JT65 digital modes.  Mr. Stanford is also a NARTE Certified EMC Test and Design Engineer.
