Pittsburgh's First Medical Marijuana Dispensary, Solevo Wellnesstm, Holds Open House February 7

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Solevo Wellness, the first medical marijuana dispensary to open in the Greater Pittsburgh region and in Allegheny County, held an open house Wednesday, February 7th. Guests were invited to tour the 7,000 square foot facility and learn how medical marijuana will soon be available for Pennsylvanians certified with one or more of the 17 state-approved medical conditions.

Senator Jay Costa, Sam Britz, Robert Capretto, and Councilman Corey O'Connor participate in the ribbon cutting during the Solevo Wellness Open House on February 7, 2018.

Annie Corbin spoke about Solevo and her daughter, Arianne, who has a rare birth defect in her brain that causes seizures. When anti-seizure medication was not working, her family had to move to Colorado for medical marijuana treatment. With the medical marijuana "she is no longer on any seizure medication and has been seizure-free for 4 years," Annie said.

Thanks to Solevo Wellness, Annie and her daughter were able to move back to Pittsburgh. "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to come home, thank you for fighting for all of us," said Annie. Annie will also be joining the Solevo team, working as a Patient Care Consultant.

Solevo Wellness worked closely with the Squirrel Hill Community to ensure their presence not only helped patients, but the entire community.  "By opening this facility, in addition to helping a number of residents with different diseases, we are now connecting a neighborhood that's been divided by a highway," said Councilman Corey O'Connor.

The dispensary is beautiful and welcoming, but also highly secure. The building boasts state-of-the-art security equipment and protocol enforced by certified professionals. The dispensary and grounds will be monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Sam Britz, the Chief Operating Officer of Solevo, stated "Solevo sets the standard for what medical marijuana dispensaries should look like. The environment reflects our dedication and quality of care."

Solevo Wellness is located at 5600 Forward Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Following dispensaries will be in Butler County, PA, and Washington County, PA. For more information, visit www.solevowellness.com.
