ClinOne Technology Allows Study Sponsors to Indirectly Drive Patient Engagement

DENVER, Feb 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ClinOne, a mobile clinical trial management solution, now allows sponsors to distribute study updates directly to their study patients through their secure messaging technology. Lack of study communication and updates have been linked to poor clinical trial study retention and dropout rates.

In fact, according to research institutions, up to 97 percent of patients enrolled in clinical trials do not receive any updates. Approximately 26 percent of clinical trial patients drop out before they are evaluable and 44 percent drop out before the study is completed.

"Prior to our digital concierge technology, there simply wasn't a solution where a sponsor could upload (IRB/EC approved) study updates into a system for confidential communication to study participants," said Rob Bohacs, CEO of ClinOne. The technology enables the first indirect communication from sponsors to patients. The technology essentially sends study updates and messages from the research site, coordinator or research nurse where the patient is participating.

The technology also provides a feedback mechanism where research sites are notified when patients read their study or safety updates and provides a read-confirmation to the coordinator. This adheres to FDA guidelines about providing written confirmation that patients have read critical study and safety updates, further increasing site compliance automatically.
