DrinkingTutors.com Announces Goal of Teaching 1,000,000 College Students How to Drink Responsibly

CHICAGO, Feb. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DrinkingTutors.com, a Chicago-based health startup, has announced a goal of teaching 1,000,000 college students how to drink responsibly. To achieve this goal, they plan to roll-out their subscription-based tutoring service across the United States. Their tutoring service, which was launched in mid-2017, helps college students drink responsibly by providing them with a simple, convenient and continuous drinking-focused education.

"Most college students have never learned how to drink responsibly," says Bill Franklin, DrinkingTutors.com's CEO. "They move from their parents' house to college with little appreciation for the serious risks associated with binge drinking." This may explain why over 38% of college students binge drink on a regular basis, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).

The announcement is timely, as binge drinking in American colleges and universities has evolved into a public health crisis. According to the NIAAA, every year approximately 1,825 college students die from unintentional alcohol-related injuries, 696,000 are assaulted by another student who has been drinking, 97,000 are victims of alcohol-related sexual assault or date rape, and about 599,000 are injured while under the influence of alcohol.

DrinkingTutors.com wants to help solve this problem. "For less than $5 per week, our tutorials provide college students with the ongoing inspiration, guidance and tools they need to drink responsibly in college and beyond," claims Franklin.
