Avara Pharmaceutical Services Wins CMO Leadership Awards in All 6 Categories for Contract Manufacturing

NORWALK, Conn., Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Avara Pharmaceutical Services, a world-class contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has been informed that the company will receive awards in the six core categories of the 2018 Contract Manufacturing Organization "CMO" Awards based on industry ratings from a survey conducted for Life Science Leader magazine.

Tim Tyson, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, is Chairman and CEO of Avara Pharmaceutical Services. In his 35-plus year career, Mr. Tyson has negotiated complex multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions, led major turn-arounds that have fueled growth and value and, most significantly, has been instrumental in bringing more than 50 lifesaving and life improving medicines to the market.

Avara Pharmaceutical Services is with an extensive network of operations serving the global biopharmaceutical market for both active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) formulation and manufacturing; and secondary formulation, manufacturing and packaging of small molecule drugs, including highly potent compounds.  Avara has secondary manufacturing technologies including granulation, coating, blending, encapsulation, compression and drying of tablets and capsules, as well as sterile processing capability of liquid and lyophilized fill-finish of sterile injectable products, including high containment capabilities.

Avara was recognized by Life Science Leader magazine that made the announcement of their seventh year of the CMO Leadership Awards, in the Core Award Categories of Capabilities, Compatibility, Expertise, Quality, Reliability and Service. The awards are based on the 'Contract Manufacturing Quality Benchmarking' survey conducted by Industry Standard Research (ISR) to determine the award recipients from 110 contract manufactures assessed by 23 performance metrics. Survey participants were recruited from pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies of all sizes.

Timothy C. Tyson, Chairman and CEO, stated "Contract manufacturers had the opportunity to win in up to three groups of outsourcing respondents: Big Pharma, Small Pharma, and Overall for combined Big and Small Pharma. We are delighted to have been recognized for our performance in all six core categories. This reinforces our total commitment to our customers and the delivery on our promises for scope, schedule, quality/regulatory compliance, and price."

Mr. Tyson also thanks the 1,200 employees of Avara at their headquarters and seven operating sites across Europe and North America. "The members of the Avara global team are the key to our success, and I thank each one of them for their significant contribution to achieve this industry recognition," said Mr. Tyson.
