Humble Pie - Pizza, Wine & Spirits Celebrating Ten-Year Milestone

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Humble Pie opened its doors ten years ago. Tom Kaufman, a Scottsdale restaurateur, and three friends with thousands of combined hours in the food industry - in the early part of the recession - set out to create a new pizza dining experience. In 2008, they opened Humble Pie in Hilton Village.

Delicious artisan pizza with a catchy name, Humble Pie quickly became a favorite. Upbeat music, a crackling wood-burning pizza oven, clanging dishes and neighbors bumping into each other added to the comfortable and social vibe. The four owners were involved in day-to-day operations, along with an additional staff of eight. Taking what they felt was a big risk a year later, a second Humble Pie opened in Desert Ridge.

Today there are nine Humble Pie pizzerias in Arizona, including OdySea in the Desert and two locations in Sky Harbor's terminal 4. They have served over a million pizzas, and employ 200. According to Kaufman, "Humble Pie launched with a small team of individuals with diverse skill sets and personalities. It was symbiotic ... and it has worked well." A signature wood-burning pizza oven is the centerpiece of every Humble Pie and is part of their brand. The neighborhoods they have chosen are distinct. The interior footprint has averaged 2,500 to 3,000 SF, with additional patio areas.

Humble Pie's are recognized as quintessential neighborhood places to dine. Known for their wood-fired pizza, salads, grilled veggies, pastas, sandwiches, burgers, calamari, award-winning French fries, and a full-bar. Open daily at 11 am. More information is available at www.humblepieusa.com.

Entering a new decade, Humble Pie vows to give back and continue to remain active in neighborhoods in which they serve. Supporting teachers, high school athletics, hunger, first responders, breast cancer and other causes that have touched both their loyal customers, and them personally.
