E-J Electric T&D Assists In Hurricane Maria Power Restoration
NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- E-J Electric T&D, the transmission and distribution affiliate of E-J Electric Installation Co., is proud to announce its mutual aid assistance commitment, along with Con Edison, to restore electricity back to students at The Academia Bautista de Puerto Nuevo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Regarded as one of the worst natural disasters in Puerto Rico, Hurricane Maria made landfall on September 20, 2017 leaving millions without electricity and widespread destruction. Students at The Academia Bautista were without power for 112 days before the E-J Electric team, along with Con Edison, provided electrical restoration services to their school. Previous Disaster Relief Efforts
Following the record-breaking Hurricane Irma storm, E-J Electric T&D sent 150-line workers and 75 pieces of equipment to assist Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and Duke Energy in relief efforts throughout Florida. The E-J Electric team provided major power line repairs, helping millions of people who were left without power across the state.
