Sofina Employees Rally to Raise Over a Quarter Million Dollars for Children's Charities
MARKHAM, ON, Jan. 31, 2018 /CNW/ - Sofina Foods Inc. employees across Canada have rallied together to raise $270,753.00 for children's charities in 2017. The fundraising initiative known as the Dream Builders' Campaign is orchestrated by the Sofina Foundation. As part of the campaign, a group of volunteers at each of Sofina Foods' locations organizes fundraising events and activities throughout the year in support of the Children's Wish Foundation, the Sunshine Foundation of Canada and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
"The money raised will impact countless families throughout Canada," said Sofina Foods Founder, Chairman and CEO, Michael Latifi. "Strong commitment to community citizenship is of great importance and priority to us and this campaign was a clear indication that our employees and partners share these same values. To date, the campaign has raised over $770,000.00 in its four year history. This includes a dollar for dollar match by Sofina Foods Inc. every year which doubles the impact of the campaign. The Sofina Foundation is now looking to break the $1,000,000 mark in 2018 during the campaign's 5th year anniversary.
