Attorney Brette L. Evans Helps 96-Year-Old Homeowner in Crisis

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Eileen was at a low point in her life. According to court documents, the 96-year-old San Jose resident had been living with her children and grandchildren for years when one of her grandchildren took out an unauthorized mortgage against Eileen's home. This unfortunate incident, court documents further state, began a foreclose, and although Eileen had allegedly not authorized the loan, it turned out valid. In stepped attorney Brette L. Evans, founder of Evans Law Offices.

"Eileen was not able to walk, and the $400,000 of equity that she did have was to be lost if the house foreclosed," said Evans, a 23-year legal veteran who was elected for inclusion in the Who's Who Top Attorneys of North America who focuses on bankruptcy law, tax work, family law, and real estate litigation.

After a member of Eileen's family found Evans on her website, one of the most recommended attorneys in San Jose, she took on the case and formulated a legal strategy to save the home. Financial powers of attorney were drafted, a bankruptcy case was filed (Case No. 15-53620 filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court Northern District of California) and the home was saved.

"Eileen, however, did have to sell her home and move, but we helped her locate new housing," noted Evans, a Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy Law, certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California.

Many people feel that they won't need an attorney or can't afford one. If the low in one's life is a divorce, separation, debt problems, or foreclosure, hiring an attorney that does all of these things will lessen the stress.

"Don't try to go it alone when financial crisis hits your family," concluded Evans. "Find a professional."
