Strategic Partners, Inc. Awarded More Than A Half Million Dollars In Attorneys' Fees Against Unsuccessful Litigant

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 17, 2018, United District Court Judge R. Gary Klausner declared Strategic Partners, Inc. (SPI) the prevailing party against Vestagen Protective Technologies, Inc. (Vestagen) in a case filed last year. The litigation stemmed from a potential business relationship between the two companies regarding the sale of antimicrobial and fluid barrier scrubs for healthcare workers. With this recent ruling, Judge Klausner ordered Vestagen to pay $520,000 to SPI as reimbursement for attorneys' fees incurred defending against baseless claims brought by Vestagen.

In late 2017, Vestagen prematurely issued press releases claiming that it had triumphed against SPI in the litigation as it pertained to alleged false advertisement by Vestagen. The company failed to state that it had countersued SPI for numerous claims, including breach of contract. Strategic Partners successfully defended against all the counterclaims, resulting in Judge Klausner's ruling and order that Vestagen pay the more than half-million dollars to SPI.
