Cool Planet Announces Issuance of U.S. Composition of Matter Patent for Enhanced Biochar
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Cool Planet announced today the issuance of United States Patent No. 9809502 for Enhanced Biochar by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent provides intellectual property protection in the U.S. for biochar products created using the company's Engineered Biocarbontm technology. With the recent issuance for Enhanced Biochar, Cool Planet has obtained over 35 patents that cover a broad range of applications.

The composition of matter patent protects key physical and chemical properties of Enhanced Biochar which have been identified as critical for effective and beneficial biochar performance. Conversely, raw biochar, while known for its soil enhancing characteristics, does not always benefit soil, and can behave inconsistently based on its material attributes.
