DeafBlind Ontario Services asks you to "Open your Eyes and Ears"

NEWMARKET, ON, Jan. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, DeafBlind Ontario Services is releasing their recommendations on how we can all support the United Nations Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities by including the rights of individuals who are deafblind, through their position paper, "Open your Eyes and Ears and Recognize Deafblindness as a Single Disability."

The paper lays out clear recommendations and asks that everyone commit to promoting, protecting and ensuring that all persons, regardless of their disability, have the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and their fundamental freedoms for all individuals with disabilities, including those living with deafblindness.

"The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities supports that everyone be treated fairly, respectfully and has equal access so they can enjoy their lives. It's something that we can all support because we all want to live without barriers," stated Chief Executive Officer, Roxanna Spruyt-Rocks.
