PieShell accelerates by raising part of their seed round through equity crowdfunding, appointing international marketing team and is selected by WeWork Area 51
NEW YORK, Jan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PieShell, the crowdfunding platform that focuses on food & beverage innovation, announce that they have raised over $370k through equity crowdfunding.
The investment helps to grow its revolutionary crowdfunding platform, further disrupts the fintech fundraising community, and fuels PieShell's growth.
In its first year, PieShell helped 15 new food-space startups raise capital. Each of the innovative companies launched on PieShell reached its first stepping-stone. Those funds, vital for early-stage companies, supporting inventory, innovation, and marketing costs.
Cheryl Clements founded PieShell in October 2016 and is a regular guest speaker, featuring recently at Expo East, and most recently on CNNMoney with Maggie Lake.
Cheryl launched PieShell after searching for a food orientated crowdfunding site only to discover there wasn't one! PieShell quickly gained traction in an industry hungry for innovation, and now nurtures the best ideas, taking them from kitchen tables to the boardroom.
PieShell investors include some of the most interesting US based entrepreneurs and angel investors including Wilson Tsai, Peeled Snacks founder Noha Waibsnaider and her husband Ian Kelleher, and Adam Simons of The Clorox Company, who joined the PieShell team as advisors.
PieShell will expand into equity crowdfunding and raise their brand profile to attract more entrepreneurs and funders. London strategy & creative agency Brand Love, have agreed to partner with Cheryl to further communicate PieShell's message across the US and, ultimately, into Europe and Asia.
PieShell has been also been selected by WeWork for their new concept Area 51, a launchpad and startup community described by WeWork as made of curious entrepreneurs who are changing humanity in innovative and disruptive ways. Area 51, featured in Wired magazine this week, is a custom designed co-working space helping foster collaboration and meaningful relationships. PieShell has moved into Area 51 located in WeWork's Hudson Street space in New York City.
PieShell can now execute its strategic plan, nurture and further support new entrepreneurs, and move into equity crowdfunding. These steps support the fast-changing environment and the increasing demand from Millennial and Gen Z entrepreneurs who are choosing crowdfunding as their preferred route for raising capital for launch and expansion.
