MONTRÉAL, Jan. 16, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Collège de Maisonneuve today held a Career Day and Vivre-ensemble en entreprise colloquium in the presence of Mr. François Blais, Québec Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, and Mrs. Malika Habel, Executive Director of Collège de Maisonneuve, as well as many business leaders, students and candidates looking for a new challenge.

Numerous job seekers gathered at Collège de Maisonneuve to learn about the hundreds of jobs available in various sectors of activity and to meet with about 50 employers and employment assistance organizations.

Business leaders and job seekers were also able to attend experiential workshops specially created for the occasion by professionals of the Institut de recherche sur l'intégration professionnelle des immigrants (IRIPI). These workshops, among other things, enabled managers and company executives to recreate situations that showed them the benefits of fostering inclusion and diversity in their workplaces.

"As an educational institution, we train thousands of adults each year who want to join the job market. By organizing the Vivre-ensemble en entreprise event in partnership with the Direction régionale de Services Québec de l'Île-de-Montréal, we also want to equip employers to promote diversity within their teams and retain graduate students," notes Mrs. Malika Habel, Executive Director of Collège de Maisonneuve.

"The Collège de Maisonneuve initiative is essential at a time when companies across the province are facing a growing scarcity of workers. Hundreds of thousands of jobs will be opening up in the coming years. It is estimated that 15% of these jobs will be filled by immigrants. It is our responsibility to ensure that these people are adequately equipped to adapt to the realities of daily life in Québec so that they have a positive experience integrating into the job market," says Mr. François Blais, Québec Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity.
