Chassis Brakes International To Begin Production In NAFTA Region


FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Jan. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Chassis Brakes International, one of the world's largest manufacturers of automotive brake systems and components, will begin production of brake calipers and rotors at a new plant in Queretaro, Mexico, for two major automakers with assembly operations in Mexico and the United States.

Volume production at the new facility will begin in April. The 100,000-square-foot plant is expected to have more than 200 employees when production capacity reaches 8,500 units per day in 2020.

"We are establishing production in North America to meet the needs of our automotive customers in the NAFTA region," said Dennis Berry, president for the company's Americas region. "Our goal is to not only support existing business, but also to grow organically across customer lines and industry vehicle segments."

The Queretaro plant is Chassis Brakes International's first North American manufacturing facility. Berry noted that the company plans to double the size of the plant over the next five to six years and is looking at additional production sites to support sales growth in the NAFTA region as well.
