Kia Canada Inc. sales up 6.7 per cent in December while contributing to 76,504 vehicles sold in 2017


MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Kia Canada Inc. reported 4,480 vehicles sold in December, representing a 6.6 per cent increase over the same period in December 2016.  Annual sales were up 6.7 per cent with 76,504 vehicles sold, representing one of the best sales years in the company's history.

The month of December marked Kia Canada's best year-to-date sales results for Forte, Sportage and Sorento carlines. Forte achieved 16,388 total sales in 2017, up 33.3 per cent year versus 2016. With a 3.4 per cent increase over the same period last year, Sorento achieved 15,990 sales in 2017. The Sportage also achieved its best annual sales on record totaling 13,284 units sold, representing a 16.4 per cent increase versus 2016.

2017 also witnessed strong sales for the Soul carline, which includes the Electric variant, with sales totaling 11,691 units.  The Sedona Multi-Purpose Vehicle also experienced strong 2017 results with 5,286 units sold, achieving a 10.3 per cent increase versus 2016.
