Golden Shore Medical Takes Over Molina Medical Clinics and Launches Operations Across California

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Backed by Dr. J. Mario Molina, formerly the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Molina Healthcare, a network of community medical clinics throughout California began operations today as Golden Shore Medical, serving thousands of families across the state who rely on the clinics for their primary medical care.

The Golden Shore Medical group serves approximately 120,000 patients and operates 17 clinics in four California counties. In Los Angeles County, Golden Shore clinics are located in Long Beach, Wilmington, and Pomona. Another nine clinics are in the Inland Empire including the communities of Riverside, Corona, Moreno Valley, Ontario, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rialto, Adelanto, and Victorville. Four additional clinics are in the Sacramento area.

Previously, the clinics were managed by Molina Medical Management, a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, until being recently acquired by Dr. Molina, who now serves as President and owner of Golden Shore Medical. Beyond the acquisition of the Molina clinics by Golden Shore Medical, nearly 300 employees of Molina Healthcare voluntarily left their positions to accept similar positions with Golden Shore. The former Molina clinics will rebrand as Golden Shore facilities, but patient services will remain unchanged.

"In 1980, my family opened the first Molina Medical clinic in the Long Beach area. While much has changed in the healthcare industry since we opened that first clinic, what hasn't changed is our dedication to providing compassionate care of the highest quality to the patients we serve," said Dr. J. Mario Molina. "With the acquisition of these clinics and the launch of the Golden Shore network, we are continuing a commitment to community healthcare access, unbroken for nearly 40 years."
