Government of Canada and Treaty 4 sign Letter of Understanding in commitment to education transformation
OTTAWA, Dec. 22, 2017 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada and Treaty 4 Education Alliance are pleased to advance their shared commitment to education transformation with the signing of a Letter of Understanding (LOU).
As partners in the treaty relationship, the parties will begin working towards the establishment of a new First Nation education system that will ensure Treaty 4 Education Alliance First Nations children on reserve receive the quality education they need to succeed.
This important initiative supports First Nations-led education transformation and reflects Canada's commitment to support a quality and culturally relevant First Nations education system, developed and controlled by First Nations.
