Tutors Needed Across Minnesota for Reading and Math


MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AmeriCorps programs, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps, are looking for tutors to serve in schools statewide during the second half of the school year, January through June.

Both programs are now recruiting for a new 3-day flex position in which tutors serve 18 hours per week, six hours each day. Tutors serving in this new position will earn $225 every two weeks and also receive $1,230 for tuition or student loan repayment. Individuals 55+ can gift the award to their child, grandchild or foster child. Full-time positions are also available and come with increased pay and additional benefits, such as health insurance.

Hundreds of Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors are currently serving in Minnesota schools, providing proven reading and math interventions to students from PreK through eighth grade. Tutors can choose where they serve and receive comprehensive training along with ongoing coaching at their site. No technical training, certification or educational background is required.
