WellCare Toy Drive Benefits Hundreds of Children Living at Tampa's Metropolitan Ministries

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) employees are giving back to the Tampa Bay community this holiday season through the company's annual "Santa Cause," a toy drive that provides thousands of gifts to children living in Metropolitan Ministries' temporary and long-term housing.

In December, employees from 50 departments fulfilled the wish lists of more than 200 children living at Metropolitan Ministries, which provides life-changing support to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by assisting them with food, clothing, shelter and other vital services.

On Saturday, 45 WellCare employees and their families and friends joined forces to help wrap more than 2,000 gifts. Volunteers will deliver and distribute the gifts on Christmas morning. This is the fourth year WellCare has held this event.
