MakePad Set For February Release, Loads Of New Features

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Following insightful feedback from kids, parents and educators, the MakePi team has fine-tuned the final MakePad prototype. The team is delighted to inform the public as to what they can expect from the new and improved product and that, despite the changes to MakePad's design, operating system and hardware, the team has been working incessantly to ensure a February 2018 release.

MakePad Set For February Release

MakePad's Augmented Design
Refined Ergonomics ? The MakePi team decided to slightly increase the size if the MakePad, as well as the size and curvature of the edges, to make the unit easier to hold and more kid-friendly.

Enhanced Aesthetics ? The back cover has been unified into one piece and is now transparent. This adjustment has vastly improved the look of the unit, made assembly much easier, and enabled users to 'show and tell' the inner workings of the MakePad as they describe their DIY computing prowess to friends and family.

Improved Ease-of-Assembly ?The way parts are fitted, and component positions have been changed to make the overall assembly much more intuitive and easy to negotiate, especially for first time users. Furthermore, a new video card, one that features a new type of connector to make connecting cables easier, has been incorporated.

Added Intuitive Features ? MakePi has re-designed the enclosure so that the bolts used to hold the unit together are embedded in the cap. This vastly improves the safety of the unit and ensures that these bolts cannot be lost. In addition, the team improved the internal layout of the unit so that sensitive parts, such as the video card and display connection cables, are protected to prevent accidental damage.

The MakePad's Revised Operating System
A new user interface has been developed for MakeOS that has been optimized for touch screens. This has vastly enhanced MakePad's user-friendliness. Furthermore, applications are now organized by planets (for example, Code Planet, Art Planet).

Check Out the New and Improved MakePad at CES, 2018
The MakePad team will be showing off the MakePad at CES, 2018, which is to be held in Las Vegas from the 9th to the 12th of January. Their booth (#52905) will be in the Sands Hall G, Eureka Park.
