Fairfax and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Receive All Regulatory Approvals to Complete Sale of First Capital


TORONTO, Dec. 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited ("Fairfax") (TSX:FFH) (TSX:FFH.U) announces that all regulatory approvals that are required under the purchase agreement to complete the previously announced transaction in which Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited of Tokyo, Japan will acquire Fairfax's 97.7% interest in First Capital Insurance Limited of Singapore have been received.  This transaction is expected to close on December 28, 2017.

Fairfax is a holding company which, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and investment management.
