BeMo CASPer Prep and MMI Prep Programs Significantly Improve Applicants' CASPer and MMI scores, New BeMo Academic Consulting Review Study Reveals

NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2017 /CNW/ -

Highlights:

Situational judgment tests are coachable.

The situational judgment tests, Computer-based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics (CASPer) and Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) are generally reported to be the most challenging parts of the admissions process by applicants.

Additionally, applicants are provided little or vague information about preparation by some admissions offices and test administrators who argue that coaching does not improve test results for such situational judgment tests.

However, a new study by BeMo Academic Consulting ("BeMo") indicates that both MMI and CASPer are highly coachable and appropriate coaching programs can produce significant improvements in MMI and CASPer scores.

The study conducted with 48 applicants enrolled in BeMo's MMI Prep program and 24 applicants enrolled in BeMo's CASPer Prep program shows that applicants' MMI and CASPer scores increased 23-27% on average, respectively.

Specifically, applicants' CASPer scores improved significantly by 10 percentage points going from a baseline average of 53% before preparation to 63% after just 3 preparatory sessions with BeMo.

On the other hand, applicants' MMI scores improved significantly by 15 percentage points from a baseline of 66% to 81%. MMI performance normally required at least 6 preparatory sessions to show improvement.

Perfect practice makes perfect.

Each preparatory session involved a realistic mock test followed by personalized feedback provided by BeMo's admissions professionals to help applicants make improvements to their behavior overtime. Notably, reviewing sample questions without feedback and coaching have not reported to improve test scores.

BeMo's admissions preparation programs are the first and only scientifically proven admissions preparation programs of their kind.

These findings provide the first formal proof that BeMo's coaching programs significantly improve applicants' performance on situational judgment tests such as CASPer and MMI. This makes BeMo's programs the first and only scientifically proven admissions preparation programs of their kind.

"These results are not surprising to me, given our success rate at BeMo. We have always designed our programs with scientific rigor and that's why all of our programs are confidently backed by BeMo's 100% satisfaction guarantee. Given that admissions preparation has been found to not be the cause of the observed socioeconomic bias in higher education, we emphasize that our preparation programs can be used to reduce such bias, while helping students achieve their academic and career goals, which is exactly why we started BeMo.", Said Dr. Behrouz Moemeni, PhD, CEO at BeMo®.
