CORAL GABLES, Fla., Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Growth of Collaborative Practice
Collaborative practice is a non-adversarial, out-of-court way for couples to divorce. Since the passage of the Collaborative Law Process Act last year, this approach to family legal issues has seen incredible growth throughout the state. Collaborative practice is available for Florida families in most major cities in Florida and has for years been a worldwide phenomenon. As the demand for this service grows, it is increasingly important to ensure that it is available and affordable to a diverse consumer population. The Conference is FACP's way of growing the number of available Collaborative practitioners to assist Florida families with peaceful dispute resolution of divorce and related family legal issues. The Conference will foster excellence in Collaborative practice and the opportunity for skill-building by existing practitioners.
How it Works
Collaborative practice takes a team approach to supporting families through difficult times of transition like divorce. Attorneys represent each client along with a neutral mental health professional and a neutral financial professional. The mental health professional assists with maintaining open and civil communication. The financial professional provides an unbiased assessment of assets and liabilities. Both are referred to as "neutral" because they are not there to be on anyone's "side" but to assist the entire team to a respectful, fair resolution of the issues.
The Many Benefits of Collaborative
Collaborative practice is seeing rapid growth due to the many benefits it provides families in transition.
