Lon Smith Roofing Honors Air Force Veteran With New Roof

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lon Smith Roofing today saluted a Fort Worth-area veteran by installing a new roof at no charge. Fred Hebb served 16 and ½ years in the Air Force and was chosen as the winner of the quarterly Roof for Vets program.

"Our veterans face many challenges when they return home," said Scott Hamilton of Lon Smith Roofing. "Challenges of life after the military ... challenges of employment ... challenges of re-adjusting to civilian life. Our veterans have fought for us ... it's up to us to fight for them.  And at Lon Smith Roofing, we created the Roof for Vets program to do just that. "

Each quarter of the year, the Lon Smith Roof for Vets program identifies a worthy veteran in need of a new roof.  After the selection has been made, the company then builds a new roof free of charge as a way of saying thank you.

"Today, we are honored to present a new roof to Fred Hebb," Hamilton said in front of Mr. Hebb's house in Bedford. "Mr. Hebb served in the Air Force for 16 and ½ years.  As a trained pilot, he served in a number of units including Bomber, Training Command and Strategic Air Command. He needs a new roof.  And today, he is getting one."

Mr. Hebb is the fourth veteran to receive a roof this year as part of the program. To learn more about the Roof for Vets program and about Lon Smith Roofing, visit lonsmith.com
