Doctor Satyabrata Chatterjee Offering New Cardiology Services in London, Kentucky

LONDON, Ky., Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardiovascular disease is among the top health problems in the world today with the number of deaths surpassing cancer-related mortality statistics. To address the growing need for specialists skilled in treating cardiovascular issues, Dr. Chatterjee and his team are offering their services in London, Kentucky, and surrounding areas.

Dr. Chatterjee has more than 25 years of experience in treating various heart and vascular health conditions.  Patients can, therefore, expect the best care at their facility in London.

Dr. Chatterjee is well-known for his expertise. His success in treating patients has made him highly esteemed among his peers in the field.  He is focused on preventive medical care but he still performs invasive procedures when necessary.

The Growth and Success of Dr. Chatterjee's Practice

Dr. Chatterjee is originally from India and first came to the United States to do kidney disease research at Northwestern University in California and at the University of Chicago in Illinois. After a year back in India, he returned to the US and was able to secure a residency in Internal Medicine at Wright State University in Ohio, and later was able to do a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Southern California.

Since southern Kentucky was one of the areas where the incidence of heart disease was very high, Dr. Chatterjee decided to settle in London where he could start his solo practice and help as many people as he can with his expertise.  Looking back at his decision, he says this was the best one he had ever made.

Heart catheterization was a new procedure in 1988 and Dr. Chatterjee was the first one to perform it in the area.  This wonderful beginning has helped him develop great relationships with his colleagues from various hospitals and has allowed him to serve as one of the best cardiologists in the country.

There is one occasion in his life, though, that has caused him some problems.  In 1994, he and some family members were involved in a vehicular accident.  He suffered three broken limbs from this unfortunate event.  But instead of allowing his misfortune to cripple his will, the good doctor continued his practice "on crutches."  This however limited him to non-invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Starting out his practice by himself was difficult. In the span of two decades, however, Dr. Chatterjee has grown his practice to include 14 cardiologists.  In 2014, he opened the very first vein disease treatment center in the area.  When asked in an interview what makes him successful, Dr. Chatterjee attributed it all to his concern for the health of his patients.
