Payformance Solutions Hires Kevin Mehta as Chief Technology Officer

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Payformance Solutions, a leading provider of value-based reimbursement solutions and services, announced today that it has hired Kevin Mehta as chief technology officer. Mehta joins Payformance from KPMG, where he spent 11 years as a management consultant, most recently serving as national lead for KMPG's Analytics Driving Insights practice with a special focus on government health and human services.

Payformance Solutions is a value-based reimbursement service provider dedicated to advancing payment transformation in the healthcare industry. Leveraging its affiliation with nonprofit healthcare research and consulting organization Altarum, it equips payers and providers with the technical tools and resources required to design, evaluate, build, measure and negotiate value-based reimbursement contracts while aligning financial goals with improved patient outcomes. www.payformancesolutions.com (PRNewsfoto/Payformance)

At Payformance, Mehta will focus on building data-driven, turnkey software solutions that provide payers and providers with the technical tools and resources needed to design, evaluate, build, measure and negotiate value-based reimbursement contracts. Payformance recently launched with a substantial investment from respected research and consulting nonprofit Altarum Institute with the goal of accelerating the healthcare system's transition to value-based payment models.

During his tenure at KPMG, Mehta partnered with data scientists and software engineers to leverage predictive and prescriptive analytics to guide strategy with the goal of designing impactful solutions, most notably for clients pursuing Medicaid transformations. He worked with payers, providers, and government clients, leveraging advanced analytics to develop and execute strategic initiatives to bend the cost curve, while improving the quality of care.

"The healthcare industry is complex and fragmented," Mehta said. "Payers and providers are faced with information asymmetry, a lack of transparency and conflicting financial goals that fail to take into consideration the health outcomes of patients. Payformance Solutions exists to help payers and providers overcome the confusion and uncertainty associated with the transition to alternative payment models, creating an ecosystem that incentivizes all stakeholders to collaborate in the best interests of patient care."

"We are excited to welcome Kevin to the Payformance team," said Brett Furst, founder and CEO of Foresight Ventures and a strategic advisor to Payformance Solutions. "His deep experience working with both payers and providers to leverage advanced technology for improving patient outcomes and lowering costs will be an asset as we expand. Kevin will play a critical role in guiding the development of our industry-leading technology as we scale up to fulfill our growth objectives."

Mehta earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He serves on the auxiliary board of the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
