In February of 2017 the Department of Justice announced a company had agreed to back $3,818,881 to settle allegations under the False Claims Act that had been double-billing and charging for medical services for work performed on a federal contract. The settlement agreement resolved allegations that from April 2009 through April 2014 the federal contractor had knowingly double-charged the United States for various medical testing. As mentioned in this instance the whistleblower reward was $645,391.
