BC Gaming Industry Association Supportive of Peter German's Interim Recommendations
VANCOUVER, Dec. 5, 2017 /CNW/ - The BC Gaming Industry Association (BCGIA) announced support today for the interim recommendations made by Peter German to the BC Government regarding the province's anti-money laundering (AML) policies.
BC's casino operators are committed, first and foremost, to providing an entertainment experience that our customers, the general public, and government can rely on. Our top priorities are the safety and security of our guests, and the integrity of all aspects of our businesses.
BC's casino operators support all efforts to enhance the province's AML framework by working in close collaboration with regulatory authorities and enforcement agencies, and look forward to continuing to work with Mr. German to implement his interim recommendations in the most efficient way possible.
It is due to the regular and rigorous monitoring and reporting of suspicious activities by casino operators that agencies and government regulators have been able to identify issues of concern, and BC's casino operators are committed to continuing to support the important work of Mr. German in the coming weeks and months.
Mr. German's interim recommendations provide enhancements to how BC's casinos handle large cash transactions that we believe represent the continued evolution of the framework we work within in the province.
