Protos Blockchain Corp. Announces Change of Directors


VANCOUVER, B.C., Dec. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Protos Blockchain Corp.  (the "Company") today announced the appointment of Ford Nicholson, Murray Flanigan, and Ali Zamani as directors of the Company.  The Company also announces that Steve Bajic and Kristopher Gruber have resigned as directors.

Mr. Nicholson is a Managing Principal and founder of Kepis & Pobe Financial Group Inc. ("K&P"), a Vancouver based private equity and venture capital firm which specializes in developing and advising clients on international energy and other natural resource projects including investments in disruptive technologies. Over the past 25 years Ford has invested in and provided executive management to multiple international projects and he has over 20 years of public company experience.

Murray Flanigan is a Managing Principal and the Chief Financial Officer of K&P overseeing all aspects of the company's accounting, financing, treasury, tax and corporate development activities.  Mr. Flanigan is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a strong background in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, international taxation, risk management, banking, corporate restructuring and accounting.  Mr. Flanigan also provides consulting services to a number of other private and public companies in the technology and mining sectors.  Prior to joining K&P, Mr. Flanigan served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and CFO of Qwest Investment Management where he closed significant debt and equity financings and oversaw the launch of various financial products and services.  Prior to Qwest Investment Management, Mr. Flanigan served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Adelphia Communications, overseeing the company's financial restructuring and ultimate sale to Time Warner Inc. and Comcast Corporation for USD $18 billion.

Mr.  Zamani is currently the Managing Partner of Overlook Investments and Chairman of Mexican Gold Corporation.  Mr. Zamani also serves on the Board of Directors of International Gold and Metals Ltd. and Applied Minerals.  Previously, Mr. Zamani served as a Portfolio Manager and CIO at Gefinor Capital Management from 2014 to 2016.  Prior to Gefinor, Mr. Zamani was a Principal at SLZ Capital Management, a New York-based asset management firm, from July 2012 to December 2013. Prior thereto, he was a Portfolio Manager at Goldman Sachs from 2004 to 2012 where he focused on the energy, materials, utilities, and industrials sectors. From 2002 to 2004, he was a mergers and acquisitions analyst at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, a boutique New York-based investment bank focused on the energy and utilities sectors. Mr. Zamani holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School.
