André Lebeuf is struck from the roll for six months and receives a reprimand

MONTREAL, Nov. 29, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec rendered its decision on the case of André Lebeuf, who will be struck from the OIQ's roll for 6 months and receive a reprimand. Mr. Lebeuf, who was convicted by the Court of Québec for fraud and breach of trust in the duties of his office for accepting a commission, goods and monetary benefits, was found guilty under section 149.1 of the Professional Code for committing a criminal offence related to the practice of his profession of engineer.

Furthermore, Mr. Lebeuf was found guilty of failing to notify the secretary of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec that he was convicted of a criminal offence on June 27, 2013, in violation of section 59.3 of the Professional Code.

The full version of the Disciplinary Council's decision, including the summary of charges, is available on the OIQ's Web site. In its decision, the Disciplinary Council also ordered Mr. Lebeuf to pay all costs in connection with the proceedings, including publication costs. The costs in connection with the proceedings are payable within 30 days of the decision. Mr. Lebeuf's sanctions, which including being struck off the roll for 6 months and paying the publication costs, are enforceable when he registers again on the OIQ's roll.

As a reminder, the sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Council are meant to protect the public by dissuading professionals from repeating offences and by setting an example for other members of the profession.
