"This #GivingTuesday, Kroger is providing our generous associates and customers an easy way to engage in the spirit of the season," said Jessica Adelman, Kroger's group vice president of corporate affairs. "We just ask that you click or share and Kroger will be there on #GivingTuesday ? just like we are every day ? making a difference in our communities."

Earlier this year, Kroger introduced its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative aimed at ending hunger in the communities Kroger calls home and eliminating waste across its company by 2025. On #GivingTuesday, Kroger is inviting its customers to take a pledge to join the company to realize its vision of Zero Hunger | Zero Waste. For every online pledge, Kroger will donate meals to Feeding America, up to 1.5 million.

Among other causes, customers can support #GivingTuesday programs benefitting the USO, National Diaper Bank Network and hyper-local community organizations.

"Whether we're donating time or resources or leveraging the power of social media and our scale, Kroger has been committed to creating real, positive change in our communities across America for over a century. Our customers, associates and stakeholders tell us that living our brand's Purpose to Feed the Human Spirittm is deeply important to them when they are choosing where to shop," Ms. Adelman added.
