Cash 5 Jackpots Won in Northampton and Montgomery Counties

MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Nov. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Lottery's Cash 5 game awarded a pair of $300,000 jackpots over the Thanksgiving weekend and created tens of thousands of winners statewide. 

A ticket sold in Northampton County won a jackpot worth $300,000 for the Thursday, November 23, drawing. It matched all five balls, 10-26-34-35-41, to win a prize of $300,000 less applicable withholding. The ticket was sold at Square One Markets, 249 S. Broadway, Wind Gap.

Cash 5 produced another big winner on Sunday, November 26, when a $300,000 jackpot was won by a ticket sold at Giant Food Store, 2450 Chemical Road, Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County. The ticket matched all five balls, 02-06-08-11-18, to win a prize of $300,000, less applicable withholding.

Both retailers earn a $500 selling bonus.

Prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before winners can be identified. Cash 5 prizes expire one year from the drawing date. Anyone holding a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket should sign the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at the nearest Lottery office.

More than 48,200 other Cash 5 tickets won prizes of various amounts in the November 23 and 26 drawings. Players should check every ticket, every time, and claim lower-tier prizes at a Lottery retailer.

In the 2016-17 fiscal year, the Lottery awarded more than $53.2 million in prizes and contributed more than $23 million to support senior benefit programs in Northampton County. In addition to awarding more than $130.4 million in prizes to winners in Montgomery County, the Lottery contributed more than $52.4 million to programs serving the county's older residents.  

How to play Cash 5: Players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip or opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 is drawn each evening and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Chances of winning the jackpot prize are 1 in 962,598; the overall chances of winning any prize are about 1 in 10.5.
