Chief Commissioner Marion Buller offers the following statement:

"After reaching out to family members to discuss the best way to move forward it was determined that the space originally planned to hold the hearings will not be able to accommodate the privacy and safety of those families wanting to share their truths. I want to apologize to our families who have been preparing to attend the Rankin Inlet Community Hearings scheduled for December 2017. Together we have identified the wisest path moving forward which will be to reschedule the hearings to a time that accommodates most families' schedules. We have confirmed an improved location and our team is working diligently to ensure the Rankin Inlet Community Hearing meets the needs of the community."

Staff will continue to work with families affected to ensure they are aware of the changes.  Further information will be posted to the website.
