Metro Supply Chain Group Announces Canada-wide Large Item Home Delivery Service

TORONTO, Nov. 17, 2017 /CNW/ - Metro Supply Chain Group Inc. ("Metro") announced today the national launch of Metro To Home, a last-mile delivery solution for manufacturers and retailers of appliances and other large and/or heavy items. This news follows the company's recent introduction of Metro Logistique à Domicile which has already begun servicing the Quebec region.

Metro To Home (CNW Group/Metro Supply Chain Group)

Metro To Home has officially joined forces with Clear Destination, developer of the market-leading software solution for home delivery, and now holds the exclusive rights to use their product throughout Canada. Clear Destination software is designed to provide effective consolidation and optimization of multiple delivery needs while offering customers closer interactive control of the delivery experience.

These announcements are described by Metro as a significant phase in the build-out of its direct to consumer fulfillment offerings. Metro To Home is the latest product to launch through Metro e24, a broad service proposition with the simple mandate to offer consumers more and better delivery choices while helping suppliers and retailers effectively control delivery costs.

"Customer experience is a critical piece of last mile delivery; expectations are being redefined every day," says Metro Group President, Martin Graham. "With this product, manufacturers and retailers of large items with specialized delivery needs can offer more and shorter delivery windows in addition to tighter, app-based customer participation in the delivery experience."

Metro founder and CEO, Chiko Nanji, offers a characteristically unvarnished view: "Our clients have always looked to us to deliver solutions that lower costs and maximize efficiency. Whether their needs are B2B or (increasingly) B2C, that's what we'll keep delivering."
