Ana Campos, President & CEO of ASAS-LA, is thrilled to have Wiley on board:"In a year when we will be fighting to save After-School All-Stars programs from federal budget cuts, there's nobody I'd rather have on our team than Marcellus. He was a force of nature on the playing field and we know he'll bring that same strength, savviness and perseverance to the ASAS-LA community. Our kids and staff already love Marcellus, so we know he'll inspire them in a hundred ways. We're grateful to him for taking on this role, embracing our mission and advocating for our cause."
One of Wiley's first missions has been to lead the charge in implementing a new Sports Industry Essentials program in partnership with Qubed, Inc. Qubed, Inc. is a career discovery company designed for the next generation of talent to pursue a career path that aligns to their passion. The program was developed with experts from Columbia University and leaders from the NFL, NBA, Nike and other sports organizations. All-Star students will learn the ins and out of the industry, and explore various career paths in sports that they may have never known existed. In tandem, he is also working to boost ASAS-LA's "Explore the Future" year-end campaign, which aims to raise funds to expand their after school programming, reduce the achievement gap, support college readiness and career success, and equip the next generation with job skills.
